Country name: The Northern Union

Starting land: The states of Massachusetts, New York, New Hampshire, Maine, Vermont, and Pennsylvania make up the Northern Union.

Location and name of Capital City: Boston, Massachusetts.

Government type: Representative democracy, much like those of Europe, but with a bit more control over the country on the higher levels.

Religion: No state, majority is Judeo-Christian.

Starting Population: 30,000,000.

Air:
60 F-15 Eagle fighters
40 F-18 Hornet multirole fighters.
29 A-10 Thunderbolt II air-and-ground attack aircraft.
20 CH-47 Chinook transport craft.
20 V-22 Osprey transport craft.
1 B-52 Stratofortress, named Union-1, serves as an electronic warfare, long-range anti-air or anti-ground attack, and aerial command platform.

Ground:
MBT: The Union Army has one hundred M60A3 Patton tanks as its MBT force.
Artillery: There are twenty M270 MLRS rocket artillery systems and thirty M109A6 Paladin howitzers.
Transports: Fifty humvees are utilized by the Union Army, ten of them are unarmed, ten carry TOW missiles, twenty carry mounted machine guns, and ten carry electronic warfare suites, such as a radar module or communications dish.
Fifty stock-variant M2 Bradleys are used by the Union's armed forces.
The remaining fifty vehicles are an assortment of non-combat fuel and troop transport trucks, which are almost always escorted.

Navy:
4 Arleigh Burke-class Destroyers, armed mostly with medium-caliber guns and anti-ship cruise missiles
1 Iowa-class Battleship, it has been refit to be used as an armed supply ship, rather than a full warship. The internal magazine stores mostly ammunition for other ships, or what ever is needed to be stored. Out of two removed guns, one is an elevator, while the forward turret has been converted into a platform for a small AA missile battery. The middle turret remains, however, it only carries half the ammunition the turret would normally have access to, and is intended to be used as a target-softening weapon or to sink enemy craft which come too close.
1 Ticonderoga-class missile cruiser, which carries a similar but heavier armament than the destroyers.
1 Ohio-class nuclear submarine, armed with tomahawk cruise missiles and anti-ship torpedoes.
2 Virginia-class submarines, refit to be powered by solar batteries and hydrogen fuels cells due to lack of ability to maintain three nuclear submarines, due to this the armament has been cut drastically, and is equal to that of more dated submarines. (such as those from the '70s)
4 Oliver Hazard Perry class frigates.
3 Wasp-class amphibious assault ships, one of which can carry and support twenty fighter aircraft in place of landing craft.


Infantry: 500,000. Upkeep cost is 1,250,000,000/month.

Starting technologies: Biotechnology and high-tech electronics. Both of these are utilized heavily by the Union to calm the population and keep it in check during these dark times. To curb the spread of diseases advanced medicines have been developed. In addition, the Union has manufactured several satellites to replace the ones in orbit, and has started a space plane program to get them up there.

History:
The Northern Union was formed from the tattered remains of the states of Massachusetts, New York, and New Hampshire, latter the people of Maine, Pennsylvania, and Vermont created their own governments and joined the Union.
